Regularly visited by tourists all year, there are large markets each Wednesday & Saturday with a wide range of goods available and also within the bevvy of shops and boutiques that line the side streets.
Visit ancient Rocamadour, a place of pilgrimage for centuries with its awesome abbey, hillside town & panoramas. See cave paintings within numerous underground galleries, enjoy cycling, canoeing, forests and picnics. For the shopper & tourist, there is busy Sarlat & the Dordogne river. Cahors, capital of the Lot (home to its ‘black wines’) to the south, including peaceful Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, one of the Lots prettiest villages.
For the gourmet, foie gras, truffles, walnuts, patisserie & sweet wines abound in the region.
