It was undeniably going to be the hardest project Clare & I were ever going to do. We had some block work and masonry experience and just expected this project to be ‘a lot more of it’ !! But in reality it took over 5 months to achieve, virtually the entirety of our out of season closure and still the masonry around the exterior is to be started Autumn/Winter later this year and next.
Everybody suffered the longest, wettest Winter in years with virtually non-stop grey, damp days. This made the work all that more difficult and onerous.
However, our vision for creating a full valley-view end to the existing terrace eventually transpired with its design to fully enhance the spectacle of the surrounding meadow and woodlands with the added bonus of full shade from mid-afternoon during the scorching Summer days. We finally did it and now it is here for you to enjoy !
