The village of Rocamadour, famous for its ancient dwellings and stunning church built into the cliff face, becomes host to the celebrated ‘Montgolfiades of Rocamadour’.
This year (the 32nd Montgolfiades), approximately 120 hot air Balloons from this famous association make their silent flight upwards across the beautiful cliffs and ravines. Alongside the usual shaped Balloons will be fantastical, artistic creations such as Elephants, Trains, Birthday Cakes, Castles, Squirrels, Cathedrals & Frogs to name just a few!!
This breath-taking procession of aerial art takes place on the weekend of Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th September 2017. Depending on the weather conditions at the time, 30 Balloons take to the air at 8am and then again at 5pm Saturday.
The same times apply to Sunday too with the addition of day-long attractions including a brocante.
Entrance is free – however, early arrival is necessary as one of the busiet Montgolfiades recorded in 2015 saw 60,000 spectators!!
