With immense sadness we had to say goodbye to our loveable French friend, Bramley, on Saturday morning 8th February 2020. Old age eventually overtook the ‘indestructible’ Mr B who was a fighter all the way to the end.
We adopted him from the SPA in Figeac in 2010, having been ‘resident’ there for nearly 4 years. He had been found by the roadside with one of his hind legs and both front legs broken (perhaps from a collision with a car or falling from one). This had happened at the very young age of one and a half years.
However, what a skilled veterinary surgeon he was that repaired Bramley and gave him the means to recover and fulfil a crazed existence of boundless energy. He was a Labris crossed with (we believe) an Old English Sheepdog, possessing the physical drive of a ‘berger de Pyrénées’ with the exuberant friendliness of the Old English.
He ‘talked’ to us, made us laugh, infuriated us, exasperated us but would never hurt a soul and just loved to be close to you and be cuddled – all 26kg of him!
So many of our wonderful customers from all nationalities will remember him (many with great affection) and he will be dearly missed. Although the house has never seemed so clean since his departure (!)
Thank you Bramley for nearly 10 years of your dedicated love and companionship and rest in peace notre ami.
